"Tell me about yourself," she said.
"Where should I begin?"
"At the beginning."
"1996. 21st of June. I was born to two free-spirited souls, two westward travelers, Annie and Eric. Spent my first four years up above Mill Valley on the foothills of Mt. Tam with a view over the bay and San Francisco in the distance. We were surrounded by redwoods. Ben came along when I was two, then when I was four and he was two we moved up into the rolling golden valley of Terra Linda. Then Erika came along too."
I paused. A burst of colorful childhood laughter must've flashed across my face, for Gaia asked, "What do you remember?"
"The cul-de-sac dog missing her tail. Our cats Cubby and Moki. A swooping bat against the dusk sky. The smell of the trees," I remembered. "They feel like figments now, the memories. They're getting farther away. It seems as I experience and learn and grow more, the more I'm starting to forget."
"We are all destined to forget. What matters is that you do not stop growing."

I created this website as an outlet.
Imagine years and years and years of film photographs buried by and blended with digital nothingness, screaming to be released. Jake! Jake! Do something with us!
Ever evolving, always changing, my aim is for this space to grow and change as I do. I'll keep taking photographs, archiving them here, changing things around, writing stories, making this space my own. I'll keep on keepin' on.
And so on.

Thank you for being here,
for taking the time to see life through my lens.

Jake
